Domestic Adoptions

Agency Assisted Adoptions:

The Datz Foundation provides assistance in advertising both locally and throughout the United States to find an adoptable child. We help you draft your "adoption ad" and your "Dear Birth Mother" profile, and help you to identify potential adoptive placements. We also network with other adoption resources around the country.  When the adoptive family locates a birth mother who wishes to place her child, the agency's attorney and social workers can make arrangements for the adoption.

The agency-assisted private adoption is completed for a fixed fee of $5,000. Identified adoptions may be carried out in North Carolina, the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. Birth parents who contact the Foundation for adoptions are referred to our waiting parents in this program. This placement process is completed on a fixed fee basis.

Minority/Transracial Adoptions:

Each year a small number of minority infants are relinquished directly to the Foundation. Although the first preference of the agency is to place black infants with families of the same race, transracial placements are made by the Foundation. The fee is between $10,000 and $15,000 depending on the circumstances and the jurisdiction. The waiting time is six months or less. To be considered, send us your home study.

What is the next step?

If you are interested in pursuing a home study or an international or agency-assisted adoption through the Foundation, call us at (703) 242-8800 or (800) 829-LOVE and ask us to mail you a retainer agreement.

If you are interested in any of the programs outlined on domestic or international adoption, you may wish to schedule an individual orientation session centered on your situation and held at our Vienna, VA office, or you may choose to attend one of our group orientations, which are free and are held at various locations in VA, MD and NC. Finally, you are welcome to visit our Vienna, VA office at any time to meet our staff and receive copies of our materials.
